These Red’s EggWich gluten free breakfast sandwiches caught my eye as soon as I saw them listed in the “new items” section of my grocery delivery service, Fresh Direct. We’re big fans of the Real Good Foods gluten free breakfast sandwiches, but I’ve been eating lighter breakfasts and looking for something different.

Red’s Eggwich – Are They Worth the Price?

Yes, Red’s Eggwiches are a little pricey. But if you’re short on time like we are, they might be the perfect solution in a pinch. They seem simple enough to make at home, if you’re into meal prepping and want to pop a few of these in the freezer to reheat when needed. But I’ve been super duper busy and want something quick and easy, so I decided to give them a try.

It’s Monday morning. Getting the kids out the door was hectic. I have a ton of work to do today. I popped one of these in the microwave and as soon as I took it out, I knew I had to sit down and write this blog post.

Oh. My. Goodness.

First, take a look at this glory:

What you’re witnessing here are two perfectly cooked egg patties sandwiching a delicious turkey sausage patty, and a slice of cheese. Microwaved to perfection.

I’ll admit I’m not great at microwaving sandwiches, but I followed the instructions. I wrapped the sandwich in a damp paper towel and microwaved for 60 seconds per side (directions recommend 50-60 seconds per side). I felt the middle and took off the top egg layer to give it an additional 30 seconds to make sure the sausage was cooked all the way through.

The results were absolutely incredible. It was light and fluffy. Not dense and sitting like a rock in my stomach. The flavor of the sausage was spot on, the eggs held up great as “bread” and the cheese melted perfectly.

I immediately Googled Red’s Eggwich to see where else I could buy these. I see they’re sold at Costco in packs of 8, so I’ll definitely need to look for them the next time I’m there.

I can safely say I am a huge fan of these gluten free breakfast sandwiches! I have another one waiting in my freezer, the Red’s Eggwich in Chicken Chorizo flavor. I look forward to trying that one tomorrow!

Should You Try Red’s Eggwich?

YES! Whether you’re gluten free, keto, low carb, or into eating high protein foods, Red’s EggWich gluten free breakfast sandwiches are an awesome breakfast choice! They’re low in carbs (only 3 carbs!) and high in protein. They’re easy to pop in the microwave to grab on the go.

We especially love this option since breakfast is normally our biggest struggle meal of the day. It’s just such a chaotic time of day and time is usually limited for cooking, so if we haven’t meal prepped, breakfast often ends up being a rice cake with peanut butter or a quick string cheese. This is a fantastic way to get a great protein punch to help our bellies stay full longer!
