Thank you all so much for your sweet comments, emails, and messages. Parrish and I were overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and love for Baby Ravelli!
It’s been so nice to share our good news with family and friends – it definitely helps it feel more real. Although….that ultrasound really solidified it for us too!
As I’m sure you can imagine by my lack of posting, I haven’t had the best first trimester. I’m not exactly sure why it’s called “morning sickness” when it’s been more like ALL DAY sickness for me.
Luckily my sister gave me good advice. She pointed out that your body only throws up when it needs to get something out. My body doesn’t need to get anything out – I just feel nauseous. So I don’t actually have to throw up. That’s pretty much the mantra that got me through week 6 and week 7. I don’t actually need to throw up.
Too bad I just feel that way all the time….
Thank God (seriously, I thank Him!) for Parrish.
He has been SO AMAZING these past 9 1/2 weeks. He has completely taken over ALL the cooking in the house. Which is quite a change, as I typically handle most of the meals. But even the smell of cooking food has been horrible for me.
He’s also made sure that I’m able to eat something. Some nights that may have only been a piece of gluten free toast, but my sweet sweet husband toasted it for me!
And let’s not even talk about my poor luck of strep throat during week 8!
But I will say that just in the last few days, I have had more of an appetite. Last night I actually ate a salad for supper! That had to have been the first salad I have eaten in….possibly….5 weeks?!?!
Quite a change from my pre-pregnancy appetites.
So let’s hope my appetite continues to return the closer we get to that 2nd trimester – and that I’m able to start working on gluten free recipes again!
