A Change in Season

You know it’s strange, I can feel the seasons starting to change.

Not really in temperature…it’s still back sweating hot here in North Carolina. But all day yesterday I felt the anticipation of…

THE HOLIDAY SEASON!

If you’ve been reading this blog long, then you know that the non-profit I work for runs a retail store. We sell items that are handcrafted by the artisans we support, thus giving them a sustainable way to get themselves out of poverty.

AND if you’ve been reading this blog long, then you know that the Holiday Season at One World Market is pretty much crazy. Super, Duper CRAZY.

It means long hours and less time off, BUT it also means more customers which is always a good thing. Plus in a strange way, it’s actually more fun at work when you’re going non-stop for 8-10 hours.

In the past, I haven’t had the best holiday seasons. I’ve come out the other end feeling burnt out and ragged. A lot of that has to do with just not preparing in the right way, both at work and at home.

So I’m hoping that this year I can compile enough EASY gluten free recipes for quick suppers and simple lunches, that I can fuel myself properly….and not end up where I was in THIS POST.

Plus I am in the best shape of my life (thank you Zumba and Bootcamp) so I’m hoping that that will translate into having more stamina!

And let’s be honest, after everything Parrish and I survived in 2012, I’m pretty sure I can do anything!

Happy Friday!

I’m off to work to celebrate it NOT being Holiday Winking smile
