Sunday morning I once again woke up with a sore throat.
I’m fairly certain it’s allergies, but after a weekend of not the best eating..(umm I may have had gluten free pizza three times) I can’t help but think a little bit of healthy eating may be in order!
Of course I’m chugging Umcka, but I also made myself a few fresh juices to jumpstart my health.
My favorite juice of all time:
It’s sweet, tart, and has a little bit of heat from the ginger. I am ADDICTED to this combo. I rarely stray. (And yes. It turns my pee pink)
To be honest with you, I would rather buy freshly made juices than make them at home. It’s so easy to pay $6 for a large juice and be on your way. But I don’t have a place in Durham where I have quick access, and….it’s way more economical to make them at home.
PLUS it really doesn’t take that long to clean my machine. I bought the Breville Compact Juicer in 2011 and I still love it.
If you’re thinking about buying a juicer, I highly recommend this one. You can read more about my juicer HERE.
I guess what I hate the most is prepping the beets. I peel them in an effort to keep the “dirt” flavor to a minimum in my juice. I think it helps, but peeling an awkward shaped veggie is tough!
Convenience and laziness often win out, so I guess I’m lucky that I don’t have a local place to buy one! Keeps my laziness in check.
Happy Monday!
