Well this is a late post for sure! For those of you who don’t follow me on Instagram (glutenhatesme) or Facebook, then you may not know that Parrish had a procedure this morning – hence the silence on the blog. (ALSO why aren’t we friends on Instagram and Facebook? You don’t like constant pictures of delicious gluten free food and puppies?!)
He had to have his ACL reconstructed due to an injury sustained a few weeks ago playing soccer. Luckily, we live in Durham (best city ever) and we have access to Duke! AND we could schedule his surgery over my Fall Break. So now he’s recovering at home…
and is clearly still under the influence of his nerve blocker and pain medicine!
Helping a 6’3” man with a giant numb dead leg up the stairs and into the house was interesting to say the least. Pretty sure our neighbor got a good laugh.
He’s looking at an extended recovery timeline, but we’ll be pretty housebound for the rest of this week. Which…I have to admit, I kind of love. Having this surgery mandates that he slows down and rests, and I get to be by his side! It’s not often that we get to enjoy restful days together without feeling like we NEED to be doing something.
All we NEED to do this week is rest!
AND eat this soup:
I LOVE this Olive Garden inspired soup – RECIPE HERE
It’s creamy and hearty, with just the right amount of healthy. I love it!
Is it seriously Tuesday already?! Any Gossip Girl fans out there? I watched the new episode in the waiting room. I’m not so sure how I feel about it!
