Gluten Free Dumplings and Veggie Egg Rolls

Can you remember the last time you ate dumplings or veggie rolls?

I bet you count back however many years you’ve been gluten free and then estimate a few months. The last time I’ve had an Asian dumpling or Veggie Roll has to be at least over four years ago.

So to say that I was excited about Feel Good Foods being released into Southern stores is a bit of an understatement. I pretty much stalked the Earth Fare in Raleigh and couldn’t wait to swing by there on my way in from Wilmington and pick up some of their dumplings!

I have to say I was a little shocked by the price tag (nearly $7 per box) but there was a $1 off coupon in the freezer section and I knew that I just had to try them!

I cooked the dumplings according to their directions EXACTLY. Water- Oil – Shaking the pan so they don’t stick, etc.

Not so much.

The bottom not only stuck to the bottom of pan…they pretty much fused with the bottom, even though I shook it several times and even used a flipper to lift the bottoms from the pan a few times during cooking too.

But we still ate them and they were delicious! The dumplings were doughy and the filling was rich and flavorful. I’ve heard from some of you that these take a little bit of practice. So hopefully my next attempt will be better. I’ll have to ask Jill from Hey, that tastes good to give me a lesson!

Now those Veggie Egg Rolls on the other hand…

Insanely good!

Crispy and full of traditional egg roll flavors, I was very impressed with these. My only wish is that there were four in the box instead of three.
