Gluten Free Family

Thanks so much to everyone for their well wishes! I am FINALLY feeling better. My sore throat is gone but the headache and fever are lingering… There’s really nothing worse than a sore throat and a head cold…

Well actually, there’s tons worse than that, but I hate feeling down in the dumps! I love feeling healthy, and even though I wasn’t feeling great over the weekend, I didn’t let it get me down!

This past Saturday was

reunion 015

the Marlow Cousin’s Reunion featuring my uncle’s Award Winning Southern BBQ! Did you miss the competition? Recap here.

I was responsible for a salad:

Romaine, Spinach, Carrots, Broccoli with dressings galore:

Wishbone of course!

And I whipped up a veggie side:

Corn, Red Pepper, Green Pepper, Tomato, Cucumber – Cilantro and Lime Juice

Aside from the BBQ, the highlight of the table was definitely:

The melon basket! Smile Yum Yum Yummy

I’m lucky that there are other members of my extended family are also gluten free, so I don’t have to worry about whether or not there will be something at the reunion I can eat.

But back to the BBQ!

My Papa’s BBQ sauce – Grandchildren’s Favorite Smile Mmmmm mmm I love that sauce!

It was so nice to get to see my extended family. We had a ton of fun! And being true southerners, lots of folks brought things to share:

Games (Have you ever tried this? You have to try to blow off all the cards except one. It’s harder than you might think!)

But the best part was getting to spend time with my family.

I’m back to work today, but I’m thinking I might should take a third day off from the gym. Anyone have any experience with working out after a head cold? I’m not sure if sweatin’ it up would help or could hurt?
