In less than a week, I am doing something that I never thought I would do. I am going back to school.
This fall I will be a part-time college student….again….and this realization is making me feel like this:
I feel…old. I am what you would define as a “non-traditional student”, which I’m actually okay with. What I’m stressing about is the fact that I am going to continue to work my full-time job while I take classes – hence the part-time.
But I can do it…
right?
I’m taking three classes, Nurtition and Behavior, Spanish for Educators, and Creative Writing. I’m a double major in English and Education, which is why the courses may seem a little skewed. And I threw in the Nutrition class for us…the blog!
Am I crazy? I keep thinking about completely switching my track and getting a bachelor’s in nutrition science and getting my certification to be a dietician. But I’ve already put in so much work towards being a teacher…eep. Plus I’m pretty sure NC is going to start making a master’s degree mandatory for dieticians…
Well, I don’t have to figure all that out today.
All I need to focus on now are these three classes…and my full-time job…and this blog. Luckily I have a pretty bangin’ support system of folks who want me to succeed. AND I’m only 28, I don’t have to know what I want to be when I grow up yet, do I?
Nah.
It’s my day off today and I have a bunch of boxes to check off. So I’m gonna get started and finish a bowl of peach pie oatmeal, that I’ll share with you tomorrow!
