Day Six & Seven–Here Comes the Sun

Our last weekend in California has been the best!

Twinsies came down from LA with his girlfriend and we all got a big suite to stay together. Nothing says ‘family vacation’ like sitting around watching Hoarders at midnight! (Why is that show so fascinating…and sad?!)

Saturday night we had a YUMMY meal…at an ITALIAN restaurant!!!! I know, right?!

day six 012

Solare Ristorante & Lounge

day six 014

I have to say that google and Yelp! have been my best friend this past week. One quick search on yelp for gluten free – san diego – liberty station, and I found an Italian restaurant within a mile that served gluten free pasta. Parrish made a quick call to be sure they had GF pasta in the kitchen and we were in business!

Twinsies and I both ordered:

day six 015

Gluten Free pasta with a Bolognese sauce

day six 016

It was terrible. I hated it Winking smile

day six 018

Nope. It was delicious. Omigoodness, that sauce tasted like it had been simmering on the stove all day. Not one bad bite. Perfectly cooked gluten free pasta. And friends, we know that’s not easy!

Yesterday, we spent the day out and about in the sun! After a quick breakfast, and a second run to The Buffalo Exchange, we headed over to La Jolla Shores.

day six 036

Seems like everyone else had the same idea. But we didn’t let the crowd get us down.

day six 038

It was my first toe dip in the Pacific – and it was a COLD one!

After a few hours in the sand, we walked around La Jolla a bit more. What a cute (and gorgeous) beach town! Seriously, buy me one of those houses please, with views like this, how could you not love it?!

Today is our last day here on the west coast, and we’re doin’ it right – San Diego style – by hitting up the ZOO!

I can’t wait to see those PANDAS!!!!!!! Any chance they’re going to let me give them kisses?
