Organic Bistro to Go

 

While my morning workout schedule has made for some earlier mornings, two days a week I have a VERY early morning. I’m up at 5:30 and out the door to babysit for two hours first thing. After I drop the little angel off at school, I rush to the gym so that I can get in 30 minutes of cardio before work. It’s a tight schedule, but most weeks it works.

However, what doesn’t always work is making my lunch. While I usually can rely on leftovers or a quick Udi’s sandwich, sometimes that just doesn’t work out.

On those mornings, I use my back-up plan. Luckily, I work within two blocks of a Whole Foods. BUT with that said, I can’t always afford the salad bar. No matter how hard I try, it always ends up being around $12!

So I was excited when Organic Bistro asked if I could offer them feedback and sent me a voucher for one of their frozen meals.

I chose the Chicken Citron because of the quinoa! I am pretty much in love with quinoa; have you tried the croquette recipe yet?

And while you know that your meal isn’t going to look like the front of the box…

And it didn’t taste half bad either! My favorite part was definitely the quinoa. The chicken was good, but I didn’t love the sauce. However, each piece of chicken was quality. You rarely find that in a frozen meal. But I have to say that I didn’t love the edamame. But then again, I don’t like sun dried tomatoes. If you like sun dried tomatoes, that you’re going to love this!

Overall, what I was most impressed with was the quality of this meal. It could have been fresh prepared and I wouldn’t have known a difference.

Yesterday was a whirlwind of meetings and appointments, but I am officially on my way to finishing my degree. Too bad it was my only day off this week. I feel burnt out with no time to recharge. Hopefully a sweaty workout will help!
