A few months ago, I asked you guys whether or not you use gluten free shampoo. At that point I had never really thought about it. (You can revisit that post by clicking here)
I mean, why should it matter? You’re not eating it…hopefully
But the more I thought about it, I started to connect the dots for me personally. One of my symptoms of ingesting gluten is a rash. (In addition to my potty issues) I had had dry, itchy scalp for over a year, and not just in the winter.
So after reading your comments, I decided to try a shampoo recommended by reader Monica.
Desert Essence Organics Hair Care - Wheat and Gluten Free
AND it smells ahh-mazing.
Plus it suds. Some shampoos that don’t contain sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate won’t fully lather up. This one does.
But most importantly, my scalp is TEN times better! No more itchiness. No more burning when I use a hair dryer.
And my hair is super silky and smooth! I only use the shampoo, and after my hair is dry I use Moroccan Oil Treatment:
instead of conditioner. My hairdresser recommended it since my hair is so long. It really helps! PLUS it smells ahh-mazing as well!
So what do you guys think? Gluten free hair care?
