The Look of Love

 

This is my third gluten free Valentine’s Day.

I no longer crave those disgusting heart shaped pizzas from Domino’s. And the heart shaped doughnuts…well we all know how I feel about those.

Actually my favorite sweet treat doesn’t even need gluten (ha!) and it’s super easy to make.

Remember last year? Yeah, those were good. But these were better AND easier.

Using Divine Fair Trade Chocolate, I made a batch of Dark Chocolate and White Chocolate Strawberries. That way I didn’t have to go to the trouble of swirling white chocolate like last year. AND after dipping the strawberries in the chocolate, I dipped them in sanding sugar, that way I didn’t have to worry about getting a perfect dip!

Those are beautiful!!
Hope you like quinoa. My fav way to eat it is soaked, then sprouted--raw quinoa !!!

hi! saw your comment - I just posted the S'mores recipe - YUUUUM.

I keep trying to cook more with quinoa too! i do like it - in the past I've had it with a lighter version of chicken parm served on top with a little cheese & sauce.

My husband and I love the Quinoa flakes with a spoonful of sunflower butter and brown sugar for breakfast. It's fast, nutritious and very tasty.

Karina, over at Gluten-Free Goddess has some excellent recipes. I just made her quinoa chocolate chip cookies, and let me just say---mmmmmm....they were wonderful. My kid hates the quinoa flake breakfast cereal, but he ate those cookies without any trouble at all!

Hey April!

I love quinoa because there are so many different ways you can cook it! I will use it as the grain with stir-fry veggies, in a soup with miso and veggies, and as a cold salad with raw veggies. I haven't had it for breakfast yet, but I heard that it is good that way too, with maple syrup and spices. Im so glad Amy told me about your blog.

I make Quinoa Hoppin' John and top it off with a liberal dose of Tiger Sauce. Vegetarian/vegan, very nutricious, and YUMMIE!

Well, there's always the store bought quinoa pasta.

- with butter and garlic and salt and pepper

- in a cold salad with vegetables and oil and vinegar

- as the couscous substitute in any tabbuleh recipe (my favourite, because I love tabbuleh and falafel and hummus)


I'll try to remember to look in my quinoa recipes when I get home.
