I was so excited last night that I could barely sleep. In less than 24 hours, I was going to be hanging out with quite possibly three of the coolest people in the world.
My bestie sister, BIL Scotty, and Lil’ Gluten Loves Me!
PLUS my sister had planned ahead and did her research! She found two restaurants near her house that carry gluten free pizza! Our choice was between Fuel Pizza in Davidson and Brixx in Birkdale Village. As mentioned in the title of this post, I’m sure you know which one we chose:
Brixx baby! I didn’t even know they had a gluten free option. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised!
Friends, I would like to introduce you to Brixx Margherita Gluten Free Pizza, nestled in it’s own little pan for safety! I LOVED this pizza. Incredible texture, NO AFTERTASTE. Positively pizza perfection. Better than Mellow Mushroom? Yep. It sure was.
After I devoured my ENTIRE pizza (I feel no shame), we pranced across the street and did something pretty crazy. We pretty much dared winter to do it’s worst. We thumbed our noses to the cold…
and treated ourselves to frozen yogurt.
We went to a brand new TCBY that is completely SELF SERVE! And at 39cents an ounce, it was a total steal!
I went with the White Chocolate Mousse as a base
and then scoped the toppings bar.
There were gluten landmines ALL OVER the place! It was a cross contamination nightmare. So, I skipped it. But I did toss a tiny speckle of Butterfingers in my bowl. Livin’ on the edge :)
This picture was taken before my BIL put his bowl on there, and all together it was only a tiny bit over $10! I thought it was a great deal!
Lil’ Gluten Loves Me approved!
The inside of this TCBY was completely different than any other I’ve been in. It was clean and modern with little pops of color.

Tomorrow my family is hosting a Christmas in January party which just so happens to ALSO be a BBQ competition! Gotta’ LOVE Southern traditions! I’m excited because I get to see my two favorite aunties, who basically saved my life. If you missed that story, recap here!

Thanks for mentioning Brixx had Gluten Free pizza! My daughter and I went today and loved it! It is so good to know I can still have pizza with Celiac Disease.
