Merry Christmas to Gluten Hates Me

Who hates gluten and has the best husband ever?

Me!

Best Christmas ever!

My sweet husband is the bestest, most sweet husband ever. A few months ago, I told Parrish about a gluten free beer company out of Colorado named New Planet. I really wanted to try their beers, but alas, they are only sold in Colorado right now. And for all of my readers outside the US, Colorado and North Carolina are not close enough for a day trip to buy beer.

But guess what was under my tree this morning?

New Planet gluten free beer!! Parrish arranged it all. I can’t wait to try them! Anyone else tried them? I’m pretty excited…and yes they are chilling in the fridge as I type.

Also in the picture above, you may notice a very snazzy laptop to the left. That would be my second Christmas gift from Parrish! A new laptop!! Or should I say, a new blogging and facebook machine. :)

I’m not sure if I’ve ever mentioned it on the blog, but up until this post, I have been blogging on what is DEFINITELY considered a DINOSAUR of a computer. What should typically take 5 minutes would take 20, and loading pictures was near impossible. Not to mention that a week ago the power cord stopped working, hence the lack of posts.

The exciting thing about my new computer, besides being lightweight and what I would consider “fancy”, is that it has Windows 7. I’m still making my way through the training videos, but so far it seems really neat. Lots of cool little gadgets. Got any tips or tricks? Send them my way!

**************

There is a possibility for a white Christmas here, although speculation of the amount is pretty wide spread. But I do know that there is a box of Udi’s Gluten Free Cinnamon Rolls in the freezer calling my name!

I hope you’re all having a very Merry Christmas!

Posts coming up: Gluten Free Cheesecake, ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas and All was GF, A Collini Christmas Supper, and Beach Trip!

Well you next post needs to be your "review" of the New Planet beers. I spoke with the owner of the brewery and at this time they don't have any plans to expand outside of CO unfortunately. For now, the most widely available Gluten Free Beer that is a good beer is Green's. Depending on your preference, I like the dark but they have amber and pale ale as well. Gluten may hate you, as it does our family, but it simply creates a new adventure. Enjoy the adventure!!

Aw, what a sweet gift! I hope your Christmas was completely gluten free, unlike mine :( Unfortunately, some gluten slipped in and I cannot figure out what did it. But I have been up all night tossing and turning. Celiac is a pretty recent thing to me (I was diagnosed May 14th). Is there ANYTHING that helps you feel even remotely better when you accidentally consume gluten? Or is it really just a 'wait it out' thing? Thank you!

Merry Day After Christmas!

Heather- OH NO!!!! I will say that I've tried a few different methods, although I'm not 100% sure any of them really work. I find that Pepto chewables are good if I'm out and away from my house, they'll delay the bathroom symptoms but actually end up making me feel bad longer. I usually just take ibuprofen and try to drink a lot of water. Hoping that it will flush my system. I need to do some research on what you can do.

Feel better soon!!!!

I agree with April, Heather Jean, Pepto and Ibuprofen are my go-to remedies. I also try to eat a very easy on the body diet for the next few days. Let it all calm down. But be careful, Pepto can just make you worse in the long run, as April said!

April - Can't wait to read the review of the BEER!! And so excited for your new laptopt!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

I'm luckily sittin' in Colorado...LOVE the New Planet beers. In fact, I picked up a case of the Raspberry Ale right before Christmas. :)

You have a wonderful husband...enjoy, and cheers!

I live not far from Boulder, where New Planet is based. I love this beer. LOVE. Sadly, we're moving to Chicago this winter and I will be without my beloved NP. You must share how Parrish got some under your tree! I suspect I'll be importing my stash. ;)

YAY for New Planet. I haven't had any in a long time, but luckily my parents live in Colorado and are coming to visit in February to see our new baby. I am definitely going to ask my mom to bring me gobs of tread lightly and raspberry ale... both good beers!!

Ooooh! I can't wait to hear about these beers! GF beer is the best! It looks wheaty... with the fruit flavors and all. Nice job, Parrish! :)
