The folks over at Mambo Sprouts are supporting Celiac Disease Awareness Month with some super cool partners that I know you all love! Oh you know, they’re just the kind folks that make the products we can eat yo! So when Mambo Sprouts asked if I would like to help support their efforts by reviewing products I said heck yeah! As soon as I opened the box I knew exactly what I was going to try first:
I know what you’re thinking. Really Marlow? You were real excited about Brown Rice Crisps? Weren’t the Glutino Chocolate Pretzels in this box?
Well…yes, yes they were. And I was super excited about them. But there is one tasty treat that I haven’t had since going gluten free. I hadn’t been able to enjoy them since discovering that Rice Krispies are NOT gluten free. (Really RICE Krispies?! Barley Malt!? Ugh. Don’t get me started)
SO as soon as I saw the Barbara’s Bakery Brown Rice Crisps I knew I could take 6 cups of the cereal and mix it with:
Marshmallow Soup and make:
Barbara’s Bakery Gluten Free Brown Rice Crisp Squares :)
aka “How I showed Barley Malt who’s boss” (remember when I showed Mozzarella Sticks who’s boss? Gluten Hates Me Baby!!)
These little babies taste exactly like those gluteny ones! Well, I haven’t had one in over two years, but Parrish confirmed the similarity. Crunchy, sweet, and…
sticky! Nom Nom Nom :) Tastiness!
And the next morning I finished up the Rice Crisps box for breakfast! I loved this cereal. It’s not overly sweet, which I love! I’m more of a savory gal in the morning.
I wish I could send you guys each a batch…if it meant I didn’t have to mail them to you. I literally have a PILE of stuff waiting to be mailed. Eesh. Maybe one day.

Yum! I love greek yogurt, so I'm excited to try Yoplait blueberry!
Congrats Ashley!! I know you’re going to love the yogurt and I bet you’re going to love the robe!!

Barbara's has been coming out with lots of gluten free goodies. There's the multigrain squares that I got to try. Very delicious. Now if Barbara could just make some gluten free peanut butter puffins I'd be a happy girl!
Is it easy to make rice krispie squares? Your pics got me wanting to make some!
next time mix a little bit of peanut butter with the marshmallows and butter and yummmmm!
Those look great! I tried making rice krispie treats with Erewhon's Crispy Brown Rice cereal last summer (before going GF, even) and they tasted like cardboard. No offense, Erewhon people.
