Let’s Gab


I can’t even think of how to begin this post! I feel like we haven’t spoke in weeks…even though it’s only been two days. I have SO MUCH to tell you! I was going to end with this first bit of news…BUT I’m not good at keeping fun surprises. CHECK IT OUT:


Allie over at Sorry, I can’t eat that broke the news for me! All I could say was “Holy Sh*t”. Seriously. I’m dying inside. Nature’s Own is going to make gluten free bread!!  Apparently they are launching them only in the Atlanta, GA market BUT hopefully they will soon be sold everywhere Nature’s Own with gluten is sold. If you live in Atlanta…I hate you. And I love you…send me some? :) You can get more info at their website here. And you can also send them a gushing email telling you how much you love them…or not. whatever.

Okay, next.

Monday night I cooked mahi mahi for the first time! Parrish is on Cloud 9 with two weeks of seafood being on the menu. Having grown up in Wilmington, Parrish LOVES seafood. Having grown up in the rural Upstate of South Carolina, I’m not very familiar with cooking salt water seafood. Show me a catfish and I’m all over it. Show me a scallop and I’m…huh?! So when I noticed that mahi mahi was on sale this week, I researched a recipe at Food Network and found this one.

The result:

Super TASTY! And not scary at all. I admit I was nervous. The likelihood of me messing this up was high. Good thing I chose a good recipe and didn’t wing it. I enjoyed my grilled mahi with avocado and cilantro.

Parrish enjoyed his with corn tortillas, hot sauce, avocado, cilantro, and cheese:

Okay, next.

Tonight I tried another new recipe: Buffalo Meatballs Baby!

I am a HUGE fan of Janetha over at Meals and Moves. Last week she had a guest post from Danica and what looked to be DELICIOUS meatballs. I liked the absence of glutens the most. So I added it to the menu and followed the recipe exactly, except I used Organic ground chicken and Moore’s hot sauce. (gluten free yo!!)

DUH-licious! So good. Although you can’t tell from the picture above, I tried really hard to make the meatballs the same size. :)

Topped with a smidgen of cheese and served on the BEST GF BAGUETTE EVAH!!!

Okay, next and lastly.

On the wedding front: MUCHOS GRACIAS to Laurie who let me know about The Limited making wedding dresses! You are too sweet to think of me while you’re at home with your new sweet little baby!! And MUCH THANKS to my bestie sister who forwarded me Laurie’s email! :) Finding my wedding dress has certainly “taken a village”! How cute is this?!



I honestly feel like I was holding my breath until I could get this blog post typed! Two great recipes, wedding dresses, and a new GF bread!!!! That’s way too much excitement for this GF gal!

AAAAHH! That bread looks amazing! I want some, but I doubt it'll be sold in New Zealand :(
Ooh, and the dress looks lovely! It must be so much fun shopping for your wedding dress [when it's not stressful that is!]

That's cool about the new main stream bread.
The Against the Grain Bread is so wonderful isn't it? but it so darn expensive, I really have to save it for a special occasion. (I do love to use the rolls as hamburger buns though)

That wedding dress is beautiful! I remember shopping for mine. I wanted something different, but not expensive. It was such a load off my mind when I finally found it. I got it at for less than $80 I was so excited. I thought I had a picture saved on on my computer, but I don't seem to. When I get one, I'll send it to you, I think you'll like it.

I hope the rest of your plans are going well!

What a lovely dress!
One of our local pizza places (Odmo's - used to be Prime Time) has begun offering some of their Medium pizzas GF!!! They use frozen dough, & suggest you cut it yourself - still -take out pizza for kids' parties? Yea!!

Mahi Mahi! The fish that's so nice, they named it twice! There have been lots of new gluten free breads coming out. Udis and now Nature's Own. We also have the Amaranth Bread company up here in Lancaster PA. We should do a swap or something!
