Election Night and an Early Morning

Congrats to our new President!! While I did not stay up to watch the speech or see the results, I did listen this morning to my local public radio station. I was very impressed by McCain and Obama's speeches. They certainly are two great men! It's been a long time since I've heard a nice concession speech and a very long time since I've heard such an inspirational speech as well. I am so proud that we live in such a democratic country where our elections are fair, counted, and once over, there are no riots in the streets. It's funny, I'm not usually such a patriotic person, but this morning I left the house feeling very proud. I'm not tied to any one particular party, so maybe that helps! :)
We love Fried Green Tomatoes! While we ate we watched the movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall. I finally received it from my Netflix! It had been on Very Long Wait FOREVER! It was really funny! I love the actor Jason Segel from How I Met Your Mother and Knocked Up. He's so handsome and funny! Plus, we ate dinner around 5:30 again! I love it!
Last night for dinner my friend Alex and I made fried green tomatoes. Yum! We ended up having a second thought and topped one with the crab cream cheese like I had mentioned. It was good, but not really worth the calories!I went to bed pretty early (and turned my phone on silent) and woke up this morning to an inbox full of text messages telling me Obama had won. My two favorite messages were from my friend Abs who wrote "I don't have to move to Canada" and my twin brother who wrote "Obama-nation!". So funny! The other great thing about my new daylight savings routine is that I've been waking up around 6:30 and staying awake! I love having more time in the morning.

With the extra time in the morning, I made myself a pot of coffee! I usually rely on Parrish to make the coffee but this morning I had time. I love Larry's Beans Espresso Blend coffee!!! SO GOOD! There company is local for me, NC, and they do all the right things! They're Fair Trade, Organic, and Shade Grown!! Plus they do tons of community service and use sustainable business practices. They're "green".
This coffee is smooth, with hints of chocolate and caramel at the finish. Plus, it is caffenaited! Ka-Pow! I hope everyone is having a great day and has had as much coffee as me!!
