Amazing Lunch

I had an amazing lunch on Friday. Parrish took me out on a lunch date and it was the best lunch I've had in a long time!! We ate at a restaurant called Brasserie du Soleil. It's a french restaurant. It's cozy and warm, but not pretentious. We had the BEST service, which always make the meal ten times better! We each chose an appetizer from the lunch menu and an entree! All the items on the menu just looked too good!

He started with mussels, cooked in a white wine and shallot sauce. The first picture I took was so steamy that you couldn't even see the mussels!
He loved them! I started with a salad. On the table are little sheets of white paper that you complete for your salad. You can choose over 30 items from the salad "menu". I chose romaine lettuce, onion, tomato, bacon, crispy potatoes, and fresh mozzarella. The waitress suggested the Sherry Vinagerette. Yum! It was so good. And the salad was so big! It could totally be your meal. Plenty to fill you up. The mozzarella balls were so fresh, they melted in each bite.
For our entree, I chose the burger with no bun and Parrish chose fish and chips. His fish and chips consisted of parmesan encrusted cod and freshly made "pomme frites". I wasn't quick enough with the camera to get a shot. My burger, which turned out to be 4 mini burgers, was freshly ground angus chuck with caramelized onion, roasted tomato, and gruyere cheese. Each bite was perfect. It came along with my own little silver canister of pomme frites and made from scratch mayo. And it must be noted that I don't like mayo, but I dipped every one of my fries in their mayo. (and then in the ketchup)For dessert they serve what they call minis. They're basically the perfect amount of a dessert that you can enjoy, without getting sick. Parrish and I shared a creme brulee. It was very yummy and very cute.
I don't think Parrish was fully comfortable with me taking photos during our lunch, but it was just too wonderful and pretty not to share with you guys! So if you're ever in my little coastal town, you have to go! The waitress was awesome about my gluten free diet. I didn't feel like a bother. I want to go again this week!!

That does look like an awesome lunch. I miss creme brulee since having to give up eggs and dairy---such a tasty treat!
